All of this applies to the ABB FIA Formula E Championship and is what makes it state of the art. Since 2014, when it was launched by Jean Todt (FIA president) and Alejandro Agag, the electric racing series has enjoyed increasing popularity and media attention. 

Increasing numbers of manufacturers such as BMW, Audi, Jaguar etc. are rapidly moving into Formula E and are also adapting the technology for components including drives and batteries for road-legal models. 


Since January 2018, the ABB FIA Formula E Championship has also had a name sponsor in the form of ABB. However, it‘s not just since the arrival of ABB that Formula E has been attractive to sponsors.
